I think that those blogs that are successful are the ones that focus on quality content that engages the reader rather than on hastily designed websites and blogs that are solely designed for money making purposes. I also agree that there is money out there to be made with some hardwork and a good backlink building strategy

Great article. I was just getting in a groove to making a living when the recession hit full blown. So I don’t make a whole lot, but I wish I had gotten in earlier to get sites established well before the recession started. Its going to be a lot tougher for new webmasters to make much money and will probably get discouraged if they are just starting now.

I agree with the comment about focusing blog posts on positive upbeat stories. Not that you would take a “Pollyanna” approach to it. There are plenty of good things going on all the time. It just doesn’t bring the ratings that bad news does, so the news outlets always focus on the bad. It is up to the rest of us to give a more balanced picture of the world.
