How to get 5000 back links to your web site?

Post Image

I warmly welcome you to my blog. I hope you will enjoy your first visit. If you like what you are seeing, I invite you to subscribe to my RSS feed.

Before going any further make sure you are ready to do this.

There is no cost involved, you do not need to place links in your site, and You Do not have to scratch behind other web site owners, but lot of manual labor is needed. You will gain more than 5000 back links to your site which means search engines will love you.

My site is 2 weeks old and I am only getting less than 5% of my traffic from search engines. I want it to be over 90%. In order to do that I need lot of links directed towards my site. And I learned the best way to do that is through web directory submissions.

I am not trying to be smart, I know lot of web site owners already know about web directories but only 1% has gone through the pain of doing this. So to make everyone’s job easier I compiled a PDF list of 5000 web directories where you can submit your site for free of charge. When you have all the links in your hand I think the job would be much easier.

So before downloading the list, Make sure you have all the data they require. Open your favorite text editor (i.e. note pad) and type the following data for easy access later.

1. Your web site address with http://
2. Site name.
3. Site description. (This is very important. Prepare an awesome 3 sentences long site description.)
4. Your Email address.

That’s it. Open the downloaded 5000 web directory list and start submitting. This is where the early entered data will come in handy. I started doing this yesterday and thought of submitting to at least 15 directories per day. This is pretty boring stuff and if I do it more than 15 times a day it would definitely kill me. And I skip all the sites which do not have a quality appearance and a google page rank. Keep in mind that there are many web directories which have a page rank of 5+. So coming links to your site from them will not do any harm for you unless you are john chow and could care less of another freaking link back to your site.

Before proceeding to the 5000+ web directory list I thought of listing few good ones here, because I know not more than 5% who read this will be interested on the whole list.

dmoz.org have a page rank of 8 but take a long time to get listed.

webworldindex.com is fast and have a google page rank of 5.

onemission.com/d.pl has instant link approval and has a page rank of 5.

wikidweb.com also have instant listing and they have a page rank of 4.

If you are too lazy I found 2 good companies which can do the job for you. If you do not have enough time to kill then this would be the best alternative rather than skipping the whole idea of getting 1000’s of links pointed to your site.
Submit Equalizer.(aff link.)
directorymaximizer.com ( not a aff link.)

Or else you can simply download the 5000 free web directory list here and start working on link building. Remember , You do not need all 5000 back links in order to see results. Good luck.

I found the best blog directories that you should submit your site to.They all have a high page rank and they are absolutely free. And the best thing is, there are only 8 in the directory list and there is a high chance that you have already submitted to at least 2-3 by now.

1 blogcatalog I know, I know you already know about this. But this list will not be complete without this.

2 lsblogs They have clean categorized listings and a page rank of 6.

3 bloghop Another well organized blog directory with a page rank of 6.

4 search4blogs This is more like a search engine and you must register before adding your blog. This site has a page rank of 5.

5 Technorati Again, The list will not be completed without this.

6 wilsdomain Relatively new one with a page rank of 3.

7 MyBlogLog If you are not already a member seriously consider this.

8 BlogTopList Unique directory with 100% live stats. A must consider one.

Top Blogs

I could have easily turn this in to another blog post , But I thought it would be much better to add value to my existing posts. I am a human being and I might have missed some of the top blog directories. Feel free to add them to the list by simply leaving a comment here. If you think I have done a fair job at listing this blog directories please vote for me at BlogTopList. Submitting to directories is a good way to get some back links but it sure takes a lot of time , I think I will follow the fifteen per day rule

Digital I.T Blog Posted on July 7, 2008 at 8:04 pm

Hmm nice work buddy but i don’t think so that by this we can get targeted traffic for long , because the link in directories keeps increasing and one day our blogs will be too down and we have to work hard to find them to , I read in seopedia that directory submission don’t help to much , for good ranking and better indexing power we need backlinks from article posts .

batta Posted on July 7, 2008 at 8:15 pm

@ Digital I.T blog,
Yes buddy,This will not give you much traffic directly since I haven’t met anyone who is looking around web directories to find web sites. But let’s say if you manage to submit to at least 100 directories which have google PR over 4. That will not be useless, I promise. You will start getting much more organic traffic.
So people, let’s start filtering the crappy ones and build a list of good web directories. Please post here the good ones you found. I will do the same.

I found your post informative and helpful. Thank you!

Susanne F Posted on July 7, 2008 at 10:49 pm

Please tell us about your results.

I don’t and I don’t know of anyone who actually visits these sites, so I am really curious about what kind of traffic you are getting.

Why not write good articles and submit to good article directories and that way get great PR backlinks? That’s what I am doing with good results = target traffic.

eranda Posted on July 7, 2008 at 11:10 pm

@ susanne,
That will definitely work. Ever since i started submitting articles to ezine i started getting traffic from them. We should not under estimate the power of article submission. This is not an alternative for that.

My website is exactly one month old. I have spent the entire month, every day about 7-10 hours a day submitting to thousands of directories. I’m tired and sick of doing it but now I’m done. I don’t have the patience to do only a few a day. My site is an Urban Community called PlayasNation.com

Hey this is just what I have been looking for. As soon as I get a bit more cash I will get the “Submit Equalizer” through your affiliate link. Thanks for the info.

I see too many irrelevant or broken sites :-/

I’m deleting duplicates and wrong ones as I go so I’ll eventually have a good list and will upload it

Alexys Fairfield Posted on July 9, 2008 at 1:18 am

Hi,
This is a good list and I am sure it will help others find all the links they want. Thanks for sharing.

Hi,
I’ve gathered quite some tips here and will be trying them out. Your frankness is refreshing too. There are too many ‘Gurus’ around dispensing air. Thanks.

Chris Williams Posted on July 9, 2008 at 5:50 pm

Thanks for the great advice. I think if I work from your top 8 list, I will be in much better shape than I am right now. :)

Peace

Excellent article and nice site. Shame that this is so much work (some people think) it was not supposed to be like this. It was supposed to be, put up a site where billions of people surf daily and get a minimal percentage of those billions and become a rich dude.

It was not about seo, search engines, ad placement, links etc. etc. etc.

If you want to succeed “Man Up” and fingers down on the keyboard.

Start submitting.

I used to submit all my posts on directories before but it is a cumbersome process.

BTW, your theme is really great !!

The annoying thing with direcotries is that they really dont bring you any traffic. They just boost you in Google, and they used to do that a lot but nowdays Im not sure how usefull they really are.

This is great. I didn’t open up the big list but I entered by blog on the sites you gave right on this page. That was quick and easy. I’ve already entered my site in many directories from other lists, but you had some good ones here.

Super cheap airplane tickets Posted on July 27, 2008 at 11:07 pm

wow man! its not very often that i find a very interesting and really helpful informative post such as this. I found you on digg and i just dugg it. I am actually submitting to top 50 article directories after filtering from all the hundreds of article directories which are going to waste my time only. I’ll do the same approach with the list you gave.

If you combine the power of web directories, article directories, and social bookmarks, then you’d surely get tons of backlinks easily.

I am so happy to know that all of these directories have “Do Not Follow” Disabled.

At first when I opened, I thought ” Again, 5000 links back, but all of them are disabled” OR ” Maybe all of them have a page rank of 0 or -1.
