Hi5 is for G’s and facebook is for posh ?

There was a time I was highly involved in hi5. Had over 500+ friends and you know adding some more people everyday. It was like a high school popularity competition , The one with most number of friends would be the batch king type of thing. This was at a time when i was jobless and had lot of time to kill. When I realized there are better things to do online rather than interacting with under aged 15 year olds covered with full makeup’s and trying to be chicks. You know the type in social media networks. Anyway I don’t remember my password now so I haven’t logged in to hi5 for quite some time.
That’s not the shocking thing. I recently met few of my friends who were doing this hi5 thing pretty seriously back then. After a little chitchat I asked ” whats up ? Howz your hi5 thing going? If I summarize the entire BS they were saying their conclusion was hi5 is for “gode” people and face book is for posh. So they all have quit hi5 and joined this so called posh network, The facebook. The reason for calling it “Gode” was, now everyone and their dog are in hi5. So they feel like it is not the place for them to be in. This type of people would have us believe that there is a definite difference in the social class of the users of each site. Is it true? Does it even matter?
How you measure posh ? There was a time going to MC was posh. And there was a time crescat was posh. Do they still recall these places as high class. And the funny thing is these so called posh people don’t have a dime in their pocket. If not for their parents pocket money they either have to starve or go home for lunch.
I do not like discriminating people. Everyone have their own way of contributing to the society. Killing time in facebook or in Hi5 will not bring food to the table. If you really want to be posh , start doing something and try to become a billionaire. Spend your weekends in burj-al-arab Dubai and shop with your girlfriends in Paris.And wear real Prada , Versace ,Armani and Gucci. Thats what you call real POSH.
And I must tell you that I do not have anything against hi5 , facebook , or myspace users. Even I do have a occasionally visiting face book account. Don’t over do it….Stay focus…lay a foundation for a better future. Start doing something new…

Well it’s subjective, isn’t it? It all boils down to how you perceive it! And that’s what makes people a rather interesting species, wouldn’t you agree? The MC reference cracked me up dude! :P
But I’m pretty sure most people switched from Hi5 to Facebook simply ’cause Facebook is better! Hi5 just had way too many glitches
what you say is true.Sri Lankans spend way too much time on facebook. Trying to find a guy or girl as far as i know. Chances are against odds dear friends. Come back to the real world.

I agree that no one seems to do Hi5 anymore. Now its all FB. Actually I think its because FB has more choices. Games and fun ways to say hi or just plain procrastinate! AND you get more security and privacy in FB too.
umm dude you had 500+ friends on Hi5? Heh heh I originally joined Hi5 and FB to keep in touch with my school friends ..now Its school friends AND uni friends…So I’ve actually never added anyone I didn’t know and as for labeling FB ‘posh’ I guess those people who follow all these fads without any idea are just fake wannabes. Wouldn’t take any notice of those poor suckers if I were you!

i also feel face book is way ahead in the game.While hi5 and myspace fating up their bank accounts with our content face book gives us a chance to a our own market page, Thats pretty cool.
What my post is about the attitude of the people. Those guys have switched just because they think its POSH. I know lot of other people moved due to different reasons.

oh, in my school one batch consists of closer to 900 students.So I guess having 500+ friends in hi5 was nothing.But I must admit most of my profile friends were not from school. And don’t tell me you are from colombo UNI. hah? No one knows i started blogging. Going to uni after 2 weeks tomorrow,

LOL good post man. The MC ref was damn cool. FB is better than hi5, pure & simple, but then again our people tend to join the bandwagon for the wrong reasons. :)

And referring to your post , i think most of the guys are at social media to colect girl’s pictures.I have seen many og my guy friends at uni keeping the hi5,Face book girl’s pictures in their mobile phones.Some have even set them as their wall papers.

lol.. what u’ve said is soo true.. the Hi5 thing, the talk about MC.. all of it.. I don’t use my Hi5 account anymore either, have taken off all of the pics form it too.. I think the reason why it has become ‘GODAY’ is coz, not just the fact that every TOM, Dick & Harry uses and has a profile on it, most of the wierdos place sad or more like sickening uncalled for comments on it too.. FB on the other hand is very secure & has only ppl u wanna have.. And yea.. it is the ‘In thing’ I guess it’s called so coz you could show off ur pics to ur friends, do funky stuff.. write crap on each others walls.. as lame as it may sound.. I’m kind of a FB Freak too.. it sure is a time killer.. but sadly enough , it does give temporary joy..
Going back to the topic.. I guess anything uncommon or rather scarce is ‘POSH’ .. that’s wot happened to MC, and is to HI5 and many others too..
