I managed to increase my search engine traffic from mere 8% to 35 % last month. That is a good achievement since I was totally depending on social media traffic early. You can read all about the changes I have done from my “blog seo” post.
I think getting back links from high PR blogs played a major role here. And the best thing is, it all came without spending a dime and always took less than 10 minutes to get a valuable back link.
All blog experts will advice you to comment more and more when you first start out. But there is a right way to do it. If you are not getting a valuable back link, your efforts will be in vane. Most of the weblogs have enabled the attribute called “no follow”. Which means search engines will not give any value to the link you are getting by commenting.
That is why you have to comment on blogs which have the ” do follow” attribute enabled. I searched all over internet to find a decent directory of do follow blogs. I found many and there were over 1500+ entries all together in these directories. So without compiling my own list of ” do follow blogs”, I thought of creating a directory of directories.
I have set my blog to ” Do follow” so you will be getting a valuable PR3 link when you comment here.
Here is the list,
1. Nickoo Shore’s list.
This is a great list with over 350 entries and Technorati rank is showed right after the blog name. If your blog is ” Do Follow” you can contact the author and get your blog added to the list.
2. Tucson SEO Solutions.
This is one of my favorite list. The creator has gone the extra step to categorize the entries and it is very helpful. If you are worried about the relevancy when getting back links, this is the place where you should go to.
This is a very small list but you get few PR6 and PR5 web sites here. It is a good idea to get the best use of this small list.
4. Why Do Work.
This is a nice list arranged by Google page rank.The creator could have add some more blogs to the list.
5. Minterest.
This directory has over 250 do follow blogs but they are not categorized or arranged according to the Google PR. But this is worth mentioning since the number of entries available here is significant.
6. D List.
This directory is also similar to the above one. You get nothing but a 200+ list of Do follow blogs.
7. Digerati Marketing.
If you like a Do follow blog list in PDF format get it from here. The creators have gone the extra step and added the PR value next to the blog name.
8. Jim Carter.
If your site is related to money making ideas, you get lot of related do follow blogs here.
9. Tips 4 Web
Once again another massive list of do follow blogs. The main problem I get with lot of directories is that they offer lot of low quality sites and we find it difficult to find a decent article to comment on. The creator has made an obvious effort to include top quality blogs. I find it very helpful as I do not like to comment on junk posts.
10. DoFollow Blog Search Engine
This is great. Just enter a term related to your niche and this search engine will find you many “do follow blogs” covering your area. I love this concept. Innovative thinking by the developer.
Please do not spam these sites as your comments will get deleted when the site owner sees them. Try to leave a meaningful comment and help the do follow movement. I have made this blog ” Do Follow”. So do not hesitate to share your ideas in the comments field and get a valuable back link as a gift :-)

If you like commenting on blogs then this is a great way to get some backlinks. However most of them will not carry that much value since they’ll be from blogs that are not related to the topic you’re covering. If you can find blogs in your niche then that is the best option you have.

That is why some directories have categorized the list. So you can comment only on blogs which are related to your topic.
Can you explain what a “do follow” blog is? How can I tell if a blog is a “do follow” from one that is not?

Do follow blogs are the ones which give link juices when you comment on them. As you already know getting links is very valuable in SEO. You can either buy links or convince the site owners to put your link. ( Which is very difficult to accomplish.) So the easiest way to get links is by commenting. But since most of the site owners have prevented you getting value for your comments, you must make sure that you comment on blogs which has enabled the “do follow” attribute.
I use a nice tool called seo Quake to check that. Google the term and you will get the download link. Or else just book mark this page and comment on 1-5 do follow blogs a day. Hope this is clear. Get back to me if you need any further assistance.

Excellent list of do-follows , thanks for your time in compiling the info.
Do-follow blogs are absolutely fantastic. The only problem is that you sometimes struggle in getting the specific relevancy here. Even if you would find ones that are somewhere-in-between-the-line related. Even if you would comment on a PR9 do-follow blog that is unrelated to your niche, the PR2 one that will match your niche will weight up heavier. So at the end, there is some negative points. However, if one would keep on looking, you will surely find one somewhere. Even 1 related quality backlink could make a turn to your search rankings.
Anyway. At the end of the day, to get a backlink from do-follow blogs, is probably of the easiest things you can do.

If the web site you are talking about is the “freecompeeducation: one I am not surprised. You have to change the site completely. Get some knowledge about the whole process first. Otherwise it is not easy to make a cent from that site.

Thanks for the great list. I have a few sites that I have boosted rankings big time mainly from leaving quality comments on do follow blogs. There is some good free software that will find these for you, including Comment Kahuna and Comment Hut. They can be a little slow but maybe that’s just my computer. I had a guy recently pay me $40 for a link on my pagerank 2 blog, and I’m thinking “why not just build links for free?” I took the money though! Thanks again.

It does not matter if the blog is DoFollow or NoFollow because Google is not looking into it seriously. I posted so many great comments in DoFollow blogs, and they did nothing to boost my page ranking. Trust me, I looked up DoFollow blog lists on Google, and commented on hundreds of blogs. If blog commenting mattered a lot to Google pageranking, wouldn’t a lot of people have high page ranks by now since there are quite a few of blogs that are DoFollow with 5+ page ranking.
